چکیده
The subgrade layer’s stability considerably influences the long-term performance of pavement systems. This study investigates influence lime as a traditional stabiliser and activated carbon with coir fibre (ACF) waste materials an environmentally friendly binder to stabilise lateritic soil. Experiments, including one-dimensional consolidation unconfined compressive strength (UCS) tests, have been conducted investigate geotechnical properties stabilised soil in various percentages additives 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% 1%, 2%, 3% ACF. results demonstrate that ACF can significantly improve parameters decrease void ratio permeability Furthermore, microstructural analysis was performed before after stabilisation for optimum content. proves AC particles fill voids, gel formation binds matrix. show is comparable UCS value decreasing ratio. both are suitable low-volume road according Malaysian standards.

Permeability of Lateritic Soil Treated with Lime and Rice Husk Ash
A-7-6 lateritic soil was treated at British Standard Light (BSL) compaction energy with up to 8% lime content (by dry weight of the soil) at 2% variations and each was admixed with up to 8% rice husk ash (RHA) at 2% variations. Effects of the ash on the soil-lime mixtures were investigated with respect to unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and coefficient of permeability. The UCS of the spec...

Abstract-Since highways are widely used modes, it is necessary that it should be maintained properly. Subgrade being the support for the whole pavement, it needs the utmost care in its construction. Many suggestions have been put forward by various scientists to improve the subgrade. The usually adopted methods are stabilization methods. This paper deals with the improvement of properties of ka...

Introduction: The Powdered Activated Carbon Treatment (PACT) has been proposed as an alternative in wastewater treatment and wastewater biomass protection against toxic substances. This study aims to evaluate PACT performance in treating dyes, acid orange, and remazol brilliant reactive blue. Materials and Methods: This empirical- applied research was carried out in pilot scale in which differ...
متن کاملPhenol Removal from Aqueous Solutions by Adsorption on Activated Carbon of Miswak’s Root Treated with KMnO4
Background and Purpose: Phenol and derivatives are common pollutants of drinking water which are blamed for crucial adverse effects such as poisoning, cancer, and malformation. In this study, an activated carbon of Miswak’s root (MR) was used for the removal of phenol from aqueous solutions as a low-cost and high surface adsorbent. Materials and Methods: Adsorption exper...
